The Space We Call Home

Combining sanctuary and self-care rituals, our Crysalis King St salon interiors blend progressive and luxurious design elements and warm, eclectic textures. We have endeavoured to create a sense of journey for each person we welcome into our haven of inner and outer nourishment. We aspire for our space to transport our guests on a sensory journey, an immersive environment unlike any experienced before. When creating the concept for our King St location, an essential component taken into consideration was ensuring our space was inclusive. Rather than focusing on trends or modernity, we wanted our space to feel neither too feminine nor too masculine, a soothing retreat for people of all walks of life. 

Our Bull St location was a gorgeous yet tiny little hole in the wall which served us so well for many years and became a life force of its own. When preparing to move into a much larger space, a priority was to retain the intimate, layered, and eclectic feel that was integral to our salon experience. For our long term Crysalis family, you may fondly remember the excited and fast-paced feeling of the Crysalis nightclub all too well!  

Creating an experience rather than a typical salon space was the primary goal of our new salon. The beauty of combining two heritage terraces is that we could establish different zones within the space; each possessing its own look, feel, function, and personality.  To further enhance the experience, a custom scent created for Crysalis lingers in the air and throughout the space. Our signature Crysalis playlists spark some extra inspiration and are curated for the differing moods and ambiance. It is all about little details and adding intentional layers. Every small element has been considered in the space to help contribute to the whole experience, only serving to enhance the tone of laid-back decadence. Our ceramics collection for our offerings service helps elevate the beautiful hand-blended teas and locally roasted coffee we serve. Our retail displays' reclaimed stone pieces help highlight our curated collection of conscious products and our custom wallpapers showcase independent textile designers.  

Crysalis is encapsulated by evolution and continued growth. Even though this is our forever home, we both strive and endeavour to continue evolving and we are so fortunate to have so many amazing people join us for this remarkable journey.
