These policies have been thoughtfully created to ensure every guest enjoys a seamless, considered experience at Crysalis — while honouring the time and care dedicated to each appointment by both our clients and our team.

At Crysalis, every appointment is carefully reserved just for you. These policies help us respect the time of both our clients and our team while ensuring we can provide the experience every guest deserves.

48 Hour Notice

If you need to cancel or reschedule, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations within this period incur a fee of $50 per booked service — for example, a Colour & Haircut appointment would incur a $100 fee.

  • Guests who do not attend (no-shows) will be required to pay a deposit for future bookings.
  • Services cannot be removed once you arrive. A $50 fee applies per removed service.
  • Unconfirmed appointments may be released at our discretion.

Extended Appointments

Hair Extensions, Colour Corrections and Transformation Services require 72 hours' notice if cancelled or rescheduled. A $200 cancellation fee applies within this period.

Quotes

Every quotation is tailored to your hair, goals and the time required to achieve your desired result. Quotes remain valid for 14 days, after which a new consultation may be required.

Every appointment at Crysalis is carefully planned to allow enough time for consultation, creativity and personalised care. We recommend allowing a little extra travel time, as parking and roadworks can occasionally cause delays.

If you're running late

Please give us a call as soon as possible. Your stylist will assess what can be achieved in the remaining time without compromising quality or delaying other guests.

  • Less than 15 minutes late — we'll do our best to complete your service, though adjustments may be needed. Your original fee will still apply.
  • 15 minutes or more — we may be unable to proceed. Your appointment may be treated as a late cancellation and our cancellation policy may apply.

From Prices

All prices include GST and are listed as "from" prices. Final pricing may vary depending on individual factors including hair length, thickness and condition, technical complexity, time required, product usage, and your stylist or colourist level.

Personalised Quotes

If you have any questions or would like a personalised quotation before your service begins, please speak with your stylist. We're always happy to help.

To achieve the best possible colour result, we kindly ask that you arrive with clean, dry hair, free from product build-up, root touch-up sprays and excessive dry shampoo. Product residue and wet hair can affect colour application, processing and the overall result.

Before Your Appointment

  • Hair should be clean and dry.
  • Avoid root touch-up sprays before your appointment.
  • Avoid excessive dry shampoo or heavy product build-up.

If Preparation Is Required

If your hair requires washing and drying before your colour service can begin, an additional Wash & Dry fee will be added to your appointment. If you're unsure how to prepare, we're always happy to advise.

At Crysalis, every colour formula is customised using premium professional products to create beautiful, healthy, long-lasting results. Keeping your colour looking its best doesn't end when you leave the salon — it also depends on how you care for your hair at home.

Home Haircare

Professional home haircare plays an important role in maintaining your colour. Using unsuitable products can contribute to colour fading, dryness and product build-up. Your stylist will happily recommend the most suitable products for your hair, lifestyle and colour goals.

Chlorine & Salt Water

Regular exposure to chlorine and salt water can affect both your colour and the condition of your hair, causing premature fading or changes in tone. If swimming is part of your lifestyle, speak with your stylist about the best ways to protect your colour.

Our Colour Guarantee

We proudly stand behind the quality of our colour services. Our guarantee applies when recommended professional home haircare is used and hair is not regularly exposed to chlorine, salt water or other harsh environmental conditions.

We're always here to help you care for your colour between appointments and keep your hair looking its best.

Crysalis is proud to partner with Sustainable Salons to reduce our environmental impact and support important community initiatives. A $3 green fee is added to each appointment — this goes directly to Sustainable Salons' recycling and community programs and is not retained by Crysalis.

Your Visit Helps Us

  • Recycle hair clippings and donate them to community garden projects.
  • Collect and responsibly recycle colour foils, tubes and aluminium.
  • Dispose of salon chemicals responsibly to minimise environmental impact.
  • Support charitable organisations through our salon recycling initiatives.

To help maintain a calm, relaxing environment for all guests, we kindly ask that only clients receiving services remain within the salon service areas. Children who are able to sit quietly and unsupervised are welcome to wait in the designated seating area.

This policy has been created for the comfort of all guests and, most importantly, for the safety of children within a busy salon environment. Please note that we currently do not offer services to children under 12 years of age.
